The Macquarie Point Development Corporation has appointed a specialist panel to evaluate Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential property developers and investors in this historic Hobart development site.
The panel comprises both local and interstate experts, including national heavyweights in the business of large-scale development projects.
Headed by former senior executive with Lend Lease and prominent company director, Penny Morris AM, the panel also includes:
- Property entrepreneur, Greg Woolley
- CEO of the National Capital Authority, Malcolm Snow
- Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia (Tasmania), Brian Wightman
- Deputy Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance, Kathrine Morgan-Wicks.
The panel’s task will be to evaluate the EOIs before providing recommendations to the corporation board. The review process will begin before the end of this month, a process that is expected to take around six weeks.
The corporation is extremely fortunate to have such a high-calibre panel to assist in the evaluation process, and the board is looking forward to receiving the panel’s advice. That advice will include recommendations on short-listing of proponents for the more detailed Request for Proposal process, which will see shortlisted parties submitting more detailed plans for specific proposals.
